About the role:
We are looking for an individual who is dedicated to embedding culturally appropriate consultation processes within People and Workplace Services (PAWS) to ensure that the voices and preferences of First Nations staff and key stakeholders are not just heard, but actively considered in our everyday work.
Committed to leading the charge in creating an implementation plan and reporting framework for PAWS’ third Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP3) and Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES) commitments, you will implement changes to our existing policies, procedures, and practices to strengthen the cultural safety of our workplaces, and break down barriers that hinder First Nations staff from fully participating in and taking on leadership roles within our organisation.
 You will support the First Nations Employment Consultant in delivering impactful projects and initiatives aimed at bolstering First Nations recruitment, retention, and professional development. Our passion for creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for First Nations individuals drives us to take action and make a real difference.
Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) will support the successful candidate with formal study opportunities to complete a qualification in Human Resources.
This is a special measures role and only First Nations people are eligible to apply, as per the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country and at VLA offices located throughout Victoria.
