Terrain NRM is an independent, not for profit and community-based natural resource management organisation. We think innovatively and act collaboratively to protect and restore the water, soil, biodiversity and landscapes of the Wet Tropics region from the Daintree in the north, down to Ingham in the south and across the Atherton Tablelands.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading environmental stewardship organisation and drive action to protect and restore the reefs, rainforests, landscapes and threatened species in far north Queensland.
Terrain NRM is the natural resource management organisation for the Wet Tropics region. We are looking for an accomplished leader to oversee our programs and projects that are restoring forest habitats, saving priority species, driving new environmental market mechanisms, and developing strategic partnerships.
This role will oversee a team of seven people delivering over $7 million worth of programs and projects.
We are looking for:
· A leader with strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to motivate a team, meet deadlines, work within budgets, and deliver quality outcomes.
· A strategic and solutions-oriented thinker with good technical knowledge of NRM issues.
· A collaborator with excellent communication skills who can build and maintain partnerships across a range of sectors.
· An advocate for the Wet Tropics that is commercially aware and driven to secure further investment.
The details:
· Based in Cairns, Innisfail, Tully or Atherton
· Permanent position
· Full time – 36.25 hours per week (we are open to discussing flexible arrangements for the right candidate)
· Flexible working conditions
· 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% leave loading
