We’re looking for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander teammate who is skilled in leading projects, to design, develop and deliver face-to-face Indigenous Cultural Capability learning programs.
In your new role, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and leading the project to design, develop and deliver a new face-to-face Indigenous Cultural Capability training package.
- Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Drafting learning outcomes for new learning solutions.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and team members to co-design and develop engaging and interactive Indigenous Cultural Capability programs.
- Publishing online learning modules into our learning management system (LMS).
- Managing a register of online learning modules.
- Supporting continuous improvement of Learning and Development (L&D) service offer through improved access and automation of our services.
- Providing advice and guidance to staff, liaising with stakeholders and external providers.
Our ideal candidate if you have the following skills and experiences:
- Program design: Ideally, with relevant Project Management and or Training and Assessing.
- Problem-solving and creative thinking: Especially during the design, development and delivery of engaging learner-centred content.
- Learning Management System (LMS) experience: It’s a bonus if you’ve used SuccessFactors LMS.
- Build trusted, collaborative relationships: Work with other Indigenous teams to provide advice and guidance to support the development of Indigenous Programs.
- Communication: Tailoring professional advice to the audience, including drafting written material such as email advice, intranet content, corporate communication messages and can communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
- First Nations History and Culture: A high level of experience, knowledge and understanding of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and protocols, past and current policy and legislation, strategies, frameworks and plans.
- Maintain relationships: Experience in building and maintain relationships with staff, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and stakeholders.
- Committed to continuous improvement: Use data, research and learner insights to identify and implement process and quality improvements.
- Solutions driven: Manage time wisely, keep deliverables on track and achieve outcomes.
- Self-aware and always learning: Understand your own strengths and development areas, actively seek feedback and guidance, research the latest trends, explore new ways of doing things and use your networks.
- Team player: Work independently, confidently and collaboratively with others in a hybrid, dispersed and multi-disciplinary team environment.

Salary: $94,736 to $106,876

- A letter signed by the chairperson of an incorporated Indigenous organisation; or
- Two statutory declarations
- a declaration to support you identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person; and
- a supporting declaration by a person from an Indigenous Service Provider.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for employment with the Department of Health and Aged Care, applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time an offer of employment is made.
An applicant’s suitability for employment with Health and Aged Care will also be assessed through a variety of pre-employment check processes, such as:
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal history check, and where relevant, a Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check,
- Completion of a medical declaration and pre-employment medical (where required),
- Providing evidence of qualifications (where required), and
- Obtaining and maintaining a security clearance at the required level.
For this role applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance or hold a current security clearance at an appropriate level.
