The Job:
Community Connector Traineeship – Supporting First Nations People with Disability in ACT.

- This role has the option to be a community services traineeship or qualification pathway via CIT, with course costs covered by Feros Care if applicable. Paid study time, roster flexibility and balance for study, work and family will be provided. Additional mentoring support programs and government financial incentives may also be available to eligible community service trainees.

- Daily travel allowance of $25 per day.

About this Community Based Role:
· If you choose the community services qualification or traineeship pathway program for this role, you will be supported by your RTO trainer, manager and colleagues to put your theoretical learning from your qualification into practice on the job.
· The primary function of the role will be to connect, network and build strong relationships with community.
· Identify culturally appropriate, mainstream services for people living with disability.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
- Provide support and linkages to community organisations for those not eligible for the NDIS.
- Collaborate with regional stakeholders to enhance access and inclusion.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Desire to work and gain experience within community development.
- Commitment to supporting building the capacity of community to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait people with lived experience of disability.
- Great people skills, excellent written communication, and time management.
- Lived experience or experience caring for someone with a disability (not essential, but a good bonus)
- Holder of a current driver’s license, or probationary license, with access to reliable transport.
- For the qualification or traineeship opportunity – you must be willing and able to commit to studying and completing a qualification over a 6 – 24 month period. This may involve paid study time during work hours and some additional study requirements outside of work hours.
